The Day That Was Bad

The day that was bad .... this is the most apt title for this post. Not sure how much luck defines and dictates our daily life but surely it has definite part to play. I was coming back from Kolkata to Mumbai, this time - alone, as I had already expired my vacation balances and Soumo still had a few more days before coming back to Mumbai. I was traveling with Air India with 1 checkin luggage and one hand luggage.My hand luggage was a 8 kg standard VIP box. As I boarded the plane, I neatly packed my luggage in the overhead bin. To all the young fashionistas, nails are always a canvas of freedom and expression. Bright nails in sporty hues was my flavor that day. Air India reached Mumbai on time, I was supposed to go to office directly from airport. Adventures and Misadventures of Kashid

It was my birthday, so Soumo called up from office and said -- get ready .... i ll be back by 2-00 and we ll go to Kashid. So at about 3-30 that day all 4 of us, that is, me, soumo, Heema and Raj. From Navi Mumbai, Alibaug takes approximately 3 hours. So by 6-30 or 7-00 we should reach there. But just after Panvel, towards Penn our nightmarish traffic jam started. We too broke the rules to make an impromptu attempt, albeit a successful attempt to bypass the trail of trailors. But to no avail. Courtesy Raj's superb driving skill, we managed to bypass many, but couldnot manage to keep our date with the watch. At 7-00 we called up one alibaug resort, who confirmed over the phone that rooms are available. By the time we managed to reach Alibaug, its kind of midnight as per Alibaug Standard Time.
